I Am Alpha and Omega, Libretto

   In order to gain an understanding of what appear to be gaps in the timeline of the Word, I have been studying other Writings that seem to address events that took place in those gaps. There are a number of ancient writings that appear to address those events, book that were discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls.    There is also another collection, The Book of Jubilees that needs to be researched and considered in this next rewrite.    So until I get through researching and considering this material, not much in the way of rewriting can occur. I am, however, considering a different perspective on the whole piece. I have vasalated between first person and third person perspectives. I'm now thinking that remaining consistent with first person is critical. As society grows, the relationship also becomes more complex and as the core material is presented there is most definitely second and third person perspectives that must come into play. However,...

   In the Writings we are told that there was an Ancient Word that was lost. It says that remnants if that Word still exist in Tarsus (an unknown locale). The Writings came about before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, so I wonder how those facts apply to The Ancient Word?    But this leads me to The Book of Enoch. Having just acquired a copy of Enoch, I have determined to use that to fill in the gap that exists in Genesis regarding details of events before the Flood.     It is said that Enoch was Noah's great grandfather. It is also said that the Book of Enoch was not written by Enoch, because of carbon dating of the scrolls that were found. Enoch is not in the canons of the Jewish or Christian Churches, except for a church in Eithiopia, which does include it in its canons.    This in itself is interesting, because of the Spiritual cognitions attributed to the peoples of Africa.    I cannot say with any authority ...

Unknown Artist or Title of the piece.    These thoughts are intended to clarify the foundational elements of "I Am Alpha & Omega" Update 8/1/25   Refer to the posting titled " Notes" below regarding the rebellion of the fallen Angels and the Nephilium.    I will be utilizing various texts to structure this Libretto. Of course, the Bible (the Word of God) and the Writings (of Swedenborg) but now I have decided to also use "The Book of Enoch". Even though Enoch is not part of the Christian or Jewish Canon, it fills in some gaps in the literal sense. There is some divergence from the Science of Correspondances, in that the Writings say that there are no angels in heaven that were not men first. That could be interpreted to be that heaven is composed of men who became angels post flood, but the question remains; What about Micheal, Gabriel, Rafael and the Cherubim and Seraphim?  It is clear in the Writings, that those names in the Word, symbol...

 Many of the posts here are, or will be, focused on the theory of internal concepts that must be manifest in an outward form. That outward form is what makes up the Libretto, a theatrical guide to the slotted time and space available to stage a presentation of the subject matter. What the form of that subject matter is, or will become in the final revision of the material is somewhat unclear at this stage of revising the original concept.    Simply put, the original concept is to condense the creation of the universe, the things described in the bible (the firmament, creatures mankind, heaven and hell, and eternity) , to condense these down to the appropriate time-frame and physical limitations of a stage production and to do so from a New Church perspective.    I must say that this is a magnominus task that brings with it a high level of complexity that must be simplified and shaped into an enthralling theatrical piece.     Previous ...

   I will continue to add to this post and to order these elements as they will appear in the Libretto.  Update 7/19/25     My recent thoughts on Correspondences ; I have it in my mind to review the concept of the piece, from beginning to end (Alpha & Omega) in the context of the Correspondances that should encompass the content. This is difficult to express. There are notable events conveyed throughout the Word, but there are also lesser events and concepts that contain significant correspondances.    I'm looking at it this way, it is difficult to see a sequence of events that give the "plot line" substance other than in a documentary/informative sense.  But I really believe that this correspondental interior needs to be revealed before any "plot line structure" can be locked in. I want to say established, but there is (in past revisions) a plot line of sorts.    Absolutely, the original screenplay had a good plot line...

    I have been endeavoring to challenge my previous assumptions about Creation. The issue here is who "We" are in "let Us make man in our image". I have a few ideas about that, but the dilemma that arises is that in the Writings  states that all who are in Heaven were once men in the world.    This brings about a question as to the Cherubim & Seraphim, Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer, as well as the Nephilium. (Questions I am researching)    In the literal sense there are references to man being created "a little below the angels", which brings with it the suggestion that the angels were created above the natural degree.    But the foundational premise of the Writings is that the Word has an internal sense, a Spiritual meaning that is above the literal meaning. In that, there is the premise that this Spiritual meaning corresponds to aspects of, first; the Lord's being, and second; man's regeneration.     This brings us to the...

Here is a Timing Breakdown for Act One of "The Gnomes of New Hope" This document is sized to 16" x 20" for printout purposes.  It's not terribly clear on the screen, but it gives you an idea of how the timing is calculated. "I Am Alpha & Omega" is divided into three Acts, the timing of which has been posted elsewhere. Generally speaking,  Act One is the longest, Act Two shorter, And Act three the shortest.
