Establishing a correct view of Creation
I have been endeavoring to challenge my previous assumptions about Creation. The issue here is who "We" are in "let Us make man in our image". I have a few ideas about that, but the dilemma that arises is that in the Writings states that all who are in Heaven were once men in the world.
This brings about a question as to the Cherubim & Seraphim, Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer, as well as the Nephilium. (Questions I am researching)
In the literal sense there are references to man being created "a little below the angels", which brings with it the suggestion that the angels were created above the natural degree.
But the foundational premise of the Writings is that the Word has an internal sense, a Spiritual meaning that is above the literal meaning. In that, there is the premise that this Spiritual meaning corresponds to aspects of, first; the Lord's being, and second; man's regeneration.
This brings us to the idea that all things in the Word correspond to an aspect of man's soul, because man was created in the Outtermosts, just as the Lord was born into the Outtermosts, for the sake of man's salvation.
It is said that Creation is brought about from Essence into Outtermosts, and then into Intermediates.
That being the case, Heaven & Hell are in the intermediates. You might think that hell is in the Outtermost, but the deliniation between Heaven & hell must take place in intermediates, because in the Outtermosts exists freedom of Will to choose between the two, whereby in the intermediates action takes place based on what is called Remains.
Remains exist because Goods & Truths are implanted in the internal when the man is in a state of innocence, before rationality is established, after which the Will takes a leading role in shaping one's destiny.
These are components of the body of the piece "I Am Alpha & Omega". But before those issues can be addressed, the foundation of Creation must be clarified. It gets down to reading between the lines. But it also is critical to discover the Truth of the formation of Creation that is free from substantial error.
Some concepts I have put forth feel like they are the result of influx and they work well, both conceptually and theatrically, but it is critical that they do not lead one astray in their beliefs.
I does say in the Writings that the Angels are amazed that there is such great darkness in the world, when speaking of man's concepts of heaven and earth, particularly in regard to God's nature, but also that of Heaven & hell.
For our purposes here, the order of Creation is actually quite clear, once we get past certain concepts that are not made absolutely clear in the Word and leave room for interpretation.
It is in the interpretation where we find the potential for error. Unfortunately, in regard to the subject matter at hand, the interpretation put forth, in some minds, is sufficient to draw conclusions about the nature of Truth and in those conclusions lies the potential for error that has a profound effect on regeneration of one's soul.
The real question is; Can we put forth a proposition that, being drawn from Influx, has a sufficient foundation in Truth to advance the larger propositions of the piece, yet remain justifiably speculative of secondary aspects of the progress (Influx) into the Outtermosts, without proclaiming itself to be a manifestation of the Ultimate Truth of those elements drawn from rational conclusion?
"Therein lies the rub" as the Bard has said.
