The Ancient Word
In the Writings we are told that there was an Ancient Word that was lost. It says that remnants if that Word still exist in Tarsus (an unknown locale). The Writings came about before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, so I wonder how those facts apply to The Ancient Word?
But this leads me to The Book of Enoch. Having just acquired a copy of Enoch, I have determined to use that to fill in the gap that exists in Genesis regarding details of events before the Flood.
It is said that Enoch was Noah's great grandfather. It is also said that the Book of Enoch was not written by Enoch, because of carbon dating of the scrolls that were found. Enoch is not in the canons of the Jewish or Christian Churches, except for a church in Eithiopia, which does include it in its canons.
This in itself is interesting, because of the Spiritual cognitions attributed to the peoples of Africa.
I cannot say with any authority that Enoch is part of The Ancient Word that was lost, but I think it is very likely. So, I have concluded that using Enoch as part of the foundations of "I Am Alpha and Omega" is acceptable, given that I include a disclaimer in the Playbill notes.
But here is a very interesting thought that occurred to me - If Enoch is part of The Ancient Word, then that book also under the Science of Correspondances. Hence, research into the internal sense of the Book of Enoch is appropriate based on revelation in the Writings. This will be a huge task, but it needs to be done.
The Ancient Word came about when The Most Ancient Church declined to the point where the Word was no longer "inscribed on their hearts" and truths (and goods) henceforth needed to be learned. Thus, the Word became written. It is then that the Law came into being. Did this occur with the writing of The Ten Commandments? Until that time did the Word remain inscribed in the Twelve Tribes, gradually declining in cognitions? I think that is likely. I will pursue that line if thinking in my research.
More later, AG
